Philippine authorities named Thomas Markle Jr. as a person of interest in an ongoing child sexual abuse inquiry involving his estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., during a press conference on Thursday.

Federal agents arrested the 82-year-old father on Friday morning near Tampa, Florida, on charges related to child sexual abuse material.
First assistant US attorney Bill Essayli said federal agents also searched two storage units in the Los Angeles area rented since 2008.
“These allegations are extremely serious, and we will prosecute Mr Markle to the fullest extent of federal law,” said Essayli.
The Duchess of Sussex stated that she was deeply distressed by the investigation and had distanced herself years prior to protect her children.
Authorities have yet to determine whether the recovered digital devices belonged directly to the father and are seeking assistance from the FBI.
