Creating Your First Personalized Feed
Your first session shapes your feed. Here is how to swipe intentionally so Headlinne learns your interests quickly.

Start broad, then narrow
In your first session, swipe on a variety of articles—even ones outside your usual interests. This gives the recommendation engine signal about what you actively reject, not just what you like.
Like generously, skip decisively
Right-swiping tells Headlinne what topics, sources, and story types you want more of. Left-swiping is equally valuable—it prevents unwanted content from returning. Do not feel obligated to read every liked article; the like itself is a strong signal.
Use read mode strategically
Swiping up to read a full article is the strongest engagement signal. Use it for stories you genuinely want to understand deeply. This helps Headlinne distinguish between casual interest and serious engagement.
Search to seed interests
AI Search lets you ask about topics before they appear in your feed. Searching for "climate policy" or "AI regulation" helps Headlinne understand your interests even if those stories have not surfaced organically yet.
Give it a few sessions
Personalization is not instant magic. After three to five sessions over a week, your feed should feel distinctly yours. If it does not, try resetting your profile in Settings and starting fresh with more deliberate swipes.
Key takeaways
- ✓Swipe broadly at first, then let preferences emerge.
- ✓Both likes and skips train the algorithm.
- ✓AI Search can seed interests before they appear in your feed.
