Red Sox lost their fight after reaching AL Wild Card Series

The Boston Red Sox were eliminated from the MLB postseason after a disappointing performance against the New York Yankees in the AL Wild Card Series. Manager Chad Tracy attributed the loss to poor hitting and a lack of momentum following the regular season.

It showed up on the scoreboard at Yankee Stadium with a 9-0 loss in Game 1 on Tuesday and a season-ending 9-2 loss in Game 2 on Wednesday.
The Yankees scored 18 runs over 16 innings without star slugger Aaron Judge in their lineup. The Red Sox bullpen allowed 15 of those runs.
Offensively, the Red Sox struck out 19 times in 60 plate appearances and had four extra-base hits, three of them by Willson Contreras.
