I can’t believe I even have to say this out loud: do not be the idiot who breaks their new $2,000 iPhone Duo by peeling off the nano-texture layer that covers the inner screen.

This morning, YouTuber Quinn Nelson, aka Snazzy Labs, shared on X a list of AppleCare+ prices that Apple will be charging for various repairs, replacements, and servicing for the upcoming iPhone Duo. Notably, the “cover layer” for the inner screen will cost $19, which is good news, because it’s sure better than paying to replace the entire display if only the surface is damaged.

Interesting that the Nano Texture “cover layer” is covered (ha) separately from the inner display.

On the one hand, AppleCare+ is a non-negotiable on this phone. On the other hand, I’m actually pleased the deductibles are largely the same as other iPhones! pic.twitter.com/AM3HhIKhfV
