A woman is in hospital after suffering a gunshot injury to her leg during a firearms incident in the Auckland suburb of Mt Wellington.
Police were advised by ambulance staff that a woman had been located with injuries at a property on Mt Wellington Highway about 8pm last night.
Auckland City CIB Acting Detective Inspector Craig Bolton said police attended and cleared the address.
“The woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition after being assaulted and suffering a gunshot injury to her leg,” Bolton said.
“I can confirm she is now in a stable condition.”
