US First Lady Melania Trump has "successfully secured" a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky, the White House has said.
It said the truce in the "front-line war city on the brink of disaster" without medicine, food and clean water would begin on 29 October.
Ukraine and Russia confirmed the deal was agreed to evacuate residents and deliver aid. They both said their forces would stop firing at 02:00 GMT on 27 October.
Oleshky was seized by Russia during the first days of its full-scale invasion in February 2022. Trapped between Ukrainian positions across the Dnipro River and Russian forces to the east, residents have recently resorted to eating garden weeds to survive.
