All Blacks v Scotland: Five changes to Dave Rennie’s team
All Blacks coach Dave Rennie has announced five changes to his squad for the upcoming test match against Scotland at Murrayfield. Despite a significant injury list, the team is fielding a strong lineup as they aim for the Nations Championship final.
Why it matters
The All Blacks' roster management is a key factor in their performance during a physically demanding international rugby season.
Five squad changes, yet All Blacks coach Dave Rennie has selected his strongest available team for Scotland in Edinburgh this weekend.
Scotland have never defeated the All Blacks in 33 tests since 1905 but Rennie is, clearly, taking no chances for Sunday morning’s (NZT) rematch at Murrayfield as the team seeks to push for the Nations Championship final.
The hefty injury toll stemming from the All Blacks’ gruelling season has stripped the team of nine players, including Ardie Savea, Luke Jacobson, Caleb Clarke, Ruben Love and Tyrel Lomax, for the remainder of the year.
This week, though, Rennie welcomes second-five Jordie Barrett, front rowers Ethan de Groot and Asafo Aumua and loose forward Anton Segner back from injury.
