Close on the heels of IndiGo’s latest 37-50% hike in domestic fuel surcharges, other airlines have raised or introduced fuel surcharges as sustained increases in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices add to operating costs.

Air India and Air India Express have revised domestic fuel surcharges to ₹400-₹1,200 and introduced international surcharges of $55 for West Asia/Middle East, $135 for Europe, $210 for Australia and $215 for North America. The revised charges will apply to bookings made from October 9.

Akasa Air has also introduced a domestic fuel surcharge and revised charges on international routes, effective October 9. Its domestic surcharge ranges from ₹375 to ₹1,150 based on sector length, while a ₹2,500 surcharge will apply on specified international routes.
