The Supreme Court of India ordered expelled Bihar legislator Anant Singh on Friday to surrender by December 1 after revoking his bail in an ongoing murder case.
A bench comprising Justices M M Sundresh and Prasanna B Varale instructed the Bihar Police to finish their investigation into the killing of Dular Chand Yadav within four months.
Singh was arrested last year for allegedly planning the murder of Yadav, a political rival, before receiving bail from the Patna High Court in March.
"Why should I surrender early?" said Anant Singh, the Mokama legislator who confirmed he would comply with the order.

"I have full faith in the court and the judiciary," Singh said during an interview with reporters in Patna on Friday.
The Janata Dal (United) party recently expelled Singh and his wife, Neelam Devi, for six years after he campaigned against the party's official candidate in local elections.
Singh accused newly elected legislator Neeraj Kumar of conspiring with opponents to frame him in the murder investigation and cause his political expulsion.
"This incident was orchestrated by Neeraj Kumar," Singh said, claiming that false witnesses were brought forward to implicate him.
Kumar denied the allegations on Friday, telling reporters that he had no involvement in the legal proceedings against the expelled lawmaker.
"I am not even properly aware of the judicial decision," Kumar said, adding that his name was being dragged into the matter unfairly.
According to the police report registered at Ghoswari station, Singh and his aides allegedly dragged Yadav from a vehicle, shot him and ran him over with an SUV.
Singh denied those claims, stating that his convoy crossed paths with Yadav during election campaigning last October before violence broke out several kilometers away.
Tejashwi Yadav, the working president of the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal, suggested that the legal pressure followed Singh's fallout with the ruling coalition.
The Supreme Court scheduled its next hearing on the matter in four months, following the expected submission of the completed police investigation.
