Russian authorities detained a teenager suspected of planning a violent attack at a popular Moscow park on Saturday after receiving intelligence from the United States.
The Federal Security Service said the suspect was a Russian citizen who posted photographs on social media wearing tactical clothing and holding an automatic weapon.
The security agency said the teenager also shared images taken at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve with the caption that indicated a target location had been selected.
Investigators seized tactical gear and accessories during a search of the home belonging to the detained minor.

The detention followed a security alert issued by the United States embassy warning of a credible threat directed at the sprawling southern museum and park complex.
Diplomatic personnel advised citizens to stay away from the zone while national authorities coordinated an appropriate response to the danger.
Law enforcement restricted public access and temporarily closed the imperial palace grounds as security personnel carried out necessary precautions.
“We are grateful to the American side for providing the information,” said the Federal Security Service in an official statement.
The investigative committee is currently weighing formal legal measures against the teenage suspect.
Washington previously shared intelligence with Moscow regarding security threats in March 2024.
Days after that previous warning, armed assailants launched a deadly assault on the Crocus City Hall concert venue.
The previous attack resulted in the deaths of more than 140 people.
The recent intelligence sharing occurs despite ongoing political tensions between Washington and Moscow stemming from the conflict in Ukraine.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding potential accomplices or whether other locations were targeted in the plot.
