At least four passenger flights across Europe faced bomb threats on Tuesday, forcing emergency diversions, airport closures, and security checks before authorities confirmed no explosives were found.

The disruptions affected flights operated by carriers including Ryanair, Scandinavian Airlines, and LOT Polish Airlines following a similar incident involving a Wizz Air flight on Monday.

The wave of alerts triggered security responses in Poland, Spain, and Bulgaria, deploying counter-terrorism units and police to inspect the landed aircraft.

In Poland, a LOT Polish Airlines flight from London Heathrow diverted to Warsaw Modlin after an alert, while a Scandinavian Airlines flight from Copenhagen landed safely at Warsaw Chopin Airport.

The LOT flight carried 181 people, including a school delegation of Jewish students aged 16 and 17, according to the Times of India.

Passengers on the diverted LOT flight were evacuated and the aircraft moved to an isolated area for inspection as Modlin Airport temporarily closed.

"The passengers were evacuated and the plane underwent security checks. Nothing was found," said Modlin airport spokesman Adam Szablowski.

Another targeted aircraft was a Ryanair flight traveling from Manchester to Murcia in Spain with 121 people on board.

The Spanish government deployed the Civil Guard and activated security protocols for the Ryanair arrival, according to Francisco Lucas, the Spanish government delegate in the Murcia region.

In Bulgaria, a flight from Israel was met by counter-terrorism units at Sofia Airport following an email threat reported by local media.

The security measures followed a separate incident on Monday when a Wizz Air flight from Luton to Sofia received a bomb threat mid-air.

A Hungarian Gripen fighter jet escorted that Wizz Air aircraft before it landed safely in Budapest for security checks.

"Within minutes, a Hungarian Defence Forces Gripen fighter jet took to the skies and provided an escort for the passenger aircraft," said Hungarian Defence Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendis.

Authorities have not established whether the threats received on Tuesday were connected to each other.
