The Montreal Alouettes and Edmonton Elks secured spots in the Grey Cup on Saturday after winning their respective division finals to set up a championship showdown in Calgary on November 15.
Montreal defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 33-23 at Percival Molson Stadium, while Edmonton earned a 28-16 victory over the visiting B.C. Lions to advance from the West Division final.
The results determine the final matchup for the 113th Grey Cup, which will be hosted at McMahon Stadium following a season defined by intense divisional competition and high-stakes playoff performances.
Montreal quarterback Davis Alexander, recently named the league's Most Outstanding Player, threw for 373 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Alouettes past Winnipeg before a crowd of 23,035.
Following the game, Alexander alleged that Winnipeg defensive lineman David Reese made repeated taunts regarding his deceased father during the contest.

“[Reese], multiple times, talked about my dead dad,” said Alexander, the Montreal quarterback.
“I was ready to for sure fight, we were all ready to fight, but I think that speaks to how much we've grown as a team and in our composure,” Alexander said.
Tyson Philpot recorded nine receptions for 129 yards for Montreal, which built a 23-10 halftime lead before Winnipeg narrowed the gap in the second half.
“It's super disrespectful. There's no place in our game for stuff like that,” said Tyson Philpot, the Montreal receiver.
The Blue Bombers did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the allegations, and the league did not confirm if an investigation would occur.
In the West final, Edmonton quarterback Cody Fajardo utilized his mobility to overcome a defensive struggle, including a 29-yard scramble that served as a turning point in the third quarter.
Fajardo later connected with Austin Mack for a 23-yard touchdown to restore the lead after the Lions had tied the score at 16 in the fourth quarter.
“To come up with that big play when it's 26-23, and they're in field-goal range, I mean, of all the big plays we've had this year, that may be the biggest,” said Jason Maas, the Montreal head coach.
The Alouettes sealed their victory when Tyrice Beverette forced a late fumble from Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros, allowing Montreal to score a final touchdown with 1:11 remaining.
Teams now prepare for the championship game, with questions remaining regarding potential disciplinary actions from the league following the post-game allegations made by the Montreal quarterback.
