Yemen's Houthi rebels launched six military operations targeting Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones on Saturday, hitting oil facilities, an airport and military positions.
Explosions echoed across Riyadh after the Saudi Civil Defence issued an early-warning alert for potential threats, while witnesses reported damage to a building belonging to Saudi Aramco.
The cross-border assault marks a sharp escalation in a revived regional conflict that has shattered a United Nations-brokered truce and deepened a severe humanitarian emergency in Yemen.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks, stating they were retaliation for military actions conducted by Saudi forces inside Yemen.

"The first operation targeted Khalid International Airport, oil storage tanks, and a distillation tower belonging to Aramco in the Saudi enemy's capital, Riyadh, and, by Allah's grace, successfully achieved its objective," said Saree.
The strikes also targeted Aramco facilities in Khurais, Pumping Station Number 8 in the Dawadmi area, a National Guard camp in Najran, and troop positions in Marib and Al-Jawf.
Saudi authorities did not immediately confirm the extent of any damage resulting from the reported operations, though the Saudi-led coalition stated it had intercepted two missiles.
Earlier on Saturday, airstrikes struck residential homes in a village near the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, killing at least 25 people and injuring about 30 others.

Anees Alsabahi, a spokesperson for the Houthi-run Health Ministry, accused Saudi Arabia of executing the airstrikes that struck al-Shariya, though the claims could not be independently verified.
"We will continue our operations deep inside Saudi territory, imposing the equation of blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation, and targeting Saudi enemy troop concentrations and officers," said Saree.
The renewed hostilities follow a series of territorial clashes in Taiz and Lahij as government forces attempt to reclaim ground lost during recent Houthi advances along the Red Sea coast.
International observers remain uncertain whether the intensifying military campaign will lead to significant strategic shifts or merely prolong the protracted conflict.
