Heidi Klum Unveils Giant Severed Hand Costume at Party

Supermodel Heidi Klum arrived at her annual Halloween party in New York City on Saturday dressed as a giant, bloodied human hand, marking the twenty-fifth anniversary of her celebrity-filled celebration.

The fifty-three-year-old television personality wore a custom prosthetic outfit depicting a severed left hand complete with long red fingernails, visible veins, and a replica of her own wedding ring.

The annual party draws global attention for its elaborate celebrity costumes, turning the venue into a major focal point for entertainment media during the Halloween holiday.

"I looked at my hand and I thought, 'Hey, I think that I can fit my body inside of this somehow,'" said Heidi Klum, describing the initial inspiration for the design.

Reports differed regarding the number of assistants required to help prepare the outfit, with one account noting up to fifteen people participated while another cited as many as twenty helpers.

The heavy costume required about five to six hours of preparation time before the event, according to statements made by the model during the red carpet arrival.

Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, missed the festivities this year due to a concert tour, though the costume featured a finger tattoo bearing his name.

"A little bit of Tom is with me," said Heidi Klum, mentioning the absence of her husband during the red carpet interviews outside the venue.

The grand entrance involved arriving at the Manhattan restaurant in a vehicle marked with warning signs before assistants in protective gear helped her onto the street.

Other celebrity guests at the Manhattan gathering included actors Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, who attended the celebration dressed as characters from a horror film.

Future plans for the annual Halloween tradition remain unannounced, though the host indicated she enjoys keeping the public guessing until the night of the reveal.
