A select group of actors will participate in final screen tests in London this weekend to determine who will succeed Daniel Craig as the next James Bond in the long-running film franchise.
The finalists include Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, Josh O'Connor and at least one other uncredited actor, according to reports from trade publications citing industry sources.
The auditions will evaluate candidates across three specific components consisting of stunts, camera presence and dialogue.
The upcoming film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who took on the project after concluding work on the Dune series.
The production marks the first movie in the franchise since Amazon MGM Studios acquired creative control from long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.

"The search for the next James Bond is under way," said Amazon in a statement.
"While we don't plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we're excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right," said the company.
Earlier this year, Courtenay Valenti, the company's head of film, urged fans to exercise patience during the selection process.
"I know you're all wondering when we're going to announce who's playing James Bond," said Valenti.
"Don't get too excited," said Valenti.
"Please know that we're taking the time to do this with care and deep respect."
Reports vary regarding whether three or five actors reached the final stage of the casting process.
Some actors previously linked to the role, including Jacob Elordi and Jack O'Connell, are not participating in the current tests, according to reports.
Steven Knight is writing the screenplay for the new installment, which is positioned for a release in 2028.
Studio executives have not announced an official timeline for when a final casting decision will be made public.
