Actor Selma Blair issued a public apology on social media following her arrest on assault charges after a commercial flight from Los Angeles to New York.
The 54-year-old performer posted a video online on Friday addressing an October 11 episode aboard a Delta Air Lines flight that resulted in her detainment at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Blair faces two counts of second-degree felony assault in Queens Criminal Court after authorities accused her of injuring emergency workers while being transported to a hospital.
Blair acknowledged the ongoing prosecution in her video statement, saying her legal representatives instructed her to refrain from commenting on the specific events of that day.

"There is a legal matter going on, and my lawyers have asked me to not say anything about that day, and I’m listening to them," Blair said.
"To the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, that I frightened, alarmed, I am so sorry," Blair said.
Port Authority police took Blair into custody after the jet reached its gate, citing reports of an unruly passenger on board.
Two crew members reported injuries, with Yahoo reporting that authorities accused Blair of punching one flight attendant and biting another.
According to charging documents described by The Guardian, an officer reported that Blair broke free from restraints on a medical gurney and repeatedly kicked her in the upper body and head.
Prosecutors further alleged that Blair kicked a medical practitioner in the chest during treatment at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
Her attorney, Shawn Barnes, stated during an October 12 court hearing that the actor experienced a severe health emergency after missing several medication doses.
Barnes said Blair hit her head during the flight, which combined with high altitude and fatigue to cause extreme confusion, according to reports from The Guardian and Yahoo.
Blair pleaded not guilty to both assault charges and secured release after a Queens judge established bail at $20,000 cash or $60,000 bond.
The criminal proceedings have been adjourned, with Blair scheduled to return to court on January 19.
