A Zambian Catholic Priest has called for justice in access to water and greater commitment to ecological conversion, underscoring the need to recognize water as a gift that carries dignity and sustains life.
Addressing participants in a Season of Creation webinar hosted by members of the Pious Society of the Daughters of St. Paul (FSP/Daughters of St. Paul/Pauline Sisters) on Thursday, October 1, Fr. Christopher Nkole reflected on St. Francis of Assisi’s “The Canticle of Brother Sun or The Canticle of Creatures,” and this year’s Season of Creation theme, “Living Water”.
“Our dependence on water is not only for us human beings but for all organisms. So, if water is life, then we are obliged to promote its availability,” said Fr. Nkole, whose presentation was titled, “A Franciscan Reflection on our dependence on water and our Obligations Towards it”.
