The officials of Chinna Bazar and Santhapeta police stations placed YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) youth wing president Sunkara Sandeep, vice-president Hemanth Kumar, and few activists under house arrest ahead of IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh’s visit to SPSR Nellore district on Wednesday.

YSRCP Nellore district president Kakani Govardhan Reddy, along with MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, and other leaders confronted the police and staged a protest expressing solidarity with the leaders under house arrest. Alleging irregularities in the DSC recruitment process and various issues within the education system, the YSRCP leaders protested on the road at ZP Centre in Dargamitta.

They demanded an immediate CBI inquiry into the irregularities surrounding the DSC recruitment and raised slogans against the government’s stance and police action. They alleged that the alliance government, which failed to implement the ‘Super Six’ schemes, was suppressing those who questioned them.
