The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani) has alleged that law and order in Andhra Pradesh has deteriorated under the TDP-led NDA government, accusing it of weakening the police system through political interference.
Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Monday, Mr. Nani claimed that police stations were functioning at the behest of ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, depriving ordinary people of access to justice. He questioned whether FIRs were being registered only after obtaining the approval of local TDP MLAs and alleged that the State was being governed according to the “Red Book” rather than the Constitution.
