Youth stabbed to death near Rajapalayam

A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death by two neighbors following a dispute over a previous complaint regarding public alcohol consumption. The victim's family has alleged police negligence in failing to act on an earlier report filed by the victim's aunt.
Why it matters
The incident raises concerns about police accountability and the escalation of neighborhood disputes into lethal violence.
A 23-year-old youth, K. Manikandan, of Muthusamypuram was stabbed to death by two of his neighbours, T. Manickam (21) and S. Eswaran (19) following a quarrel, on Thursday evening.
Relatives of the deceased complained that failure on part of Seithur police in acting on a complaint lodged by the aunt of the deceased had led to the murder.
Kaliraj, father of Manikandan has given a petition to Rajapalayam Deputy Superintendent of Police demanding action against the Inspector of Police, Guruvathai, for not taking action on the earlier complaint.
The police said that Muthumari, aunt of Manikandan had scolded the accused for consuming liquor near her house. This led to a scuffle on Wednesday.
