A city court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his father with an iron rod following a trivial domestic dispute. The court also imposed a fine of ₹5,000 on the convict.
The incident occurred in January, 2025, at a residence in Rajajinagar, where the accused, Raghu, fatally assaulted his father, Ramachandra, with an iron rod during an argument.
Based on a complaint, the Rajajinagar police registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and launched an investigation.
The chargesheet was filed by Investigating Officer Inspector Pramod Kumar. During the trial, State public prosecutors Chinnavenkataravanappa and R.V. Bhat represented the prosecution.
