Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat welcomed youth leader Kollabattula Prasoon and 13 of her supporters into the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) at NTR Bhavan in the city on Thursday.
Speaking at the programme, Mr. Sribharat said youth should enter politics with the objective of public service rather than seeking positions. He said Ms. Prasoon had completed her B.Tech and MBA and given up an employment opportunity in Dubai to enter public life.
Mr. Sribharat said development should bring a positive change in people’s quality of life and called for greater public awareness of cleanliness and civic responsibility. He said collective efforts by party leaders, workers and residents could accelerate ward-level development.
In view of the upcoming local-body elections, he urged party leaders and workers to work with unity and commitment in their respective wards.
