Youth held in Vellore for selling narcotic-laced chocolates

A 22-year-old man was arrested in Vellore for possessing and attempting to sell 1,500 narcotic-laced chocolates. The arrest followed increased police surveillance ordered by the local Superintendent of Police.

A 22-year-old youth was arrested by Viruthampattu police in Vellore for selling narcotic-laced chocolates on Sunday.
The police said the arrested person was identified as S. Manoj Kumar, a native of Bihar. He came to Vellore town to board a bus to Virudhunagar to meet his brother.
Initial inquiry revealed that based on orders of Superintendent of Police (SP) U.N. Sivaraman, searches have been conducted by special police teams in the district to prevent possession, selling and buying of narcotic items.
