Upping its ante against the BJP government at the Centre, Youth Congress activists in Mysuru observed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on Thursday as “Unemployment Day”.

The Youth Congress activists, who gathered at the Srirampura signal on H.D. Kote Road in Mysuru on Thursday, prepared pakodas and distributed them to the public to highlight the absence of jobs for the youth in the country.

The activists shouted slogans against the BJP government at the Centre.

Questioning Mr. Modi over the number of jobs created for the youth in the country, president of Mysuru district youth Congress committee Chandan Gowda said the Prime Minister had not addressed any press conferences since he assumed power.

Criticising the Centre for the rise in prices of fuel, the Youth Congress activists said the government had now announced a levy even on UPI transactions.
