Youth burnt alive, driver succumbs to injuries as car collides with lorry on highway in Polavaram district

A 29-year-old youth, Avidi Surya Vinaya Teja, was burnt alive, while another man, N. Ayyanna (35), succumbed to injuries when a car, in which the duo were travelling, collided with an iron-laden lorry on the highway late on Friday (August 21, 2026) night near Chintoor in Polavaram district.
Vinaya Teja belongs to Rangareddy district in Telangana and Ayyanna is a native of Rayavaram Mandal in East Godavari district.
The incident occurred when the duo was on their way from Hyderabad to attend a wedding in Rayavaram Mandal in East Godavari district. They were supposed to receive their friends in Kunta in Chhattisgarh.
Chintoor Sub-Inspector M. Santosh Kumar told The Hindu : “The car, driven by Ayyanna, collided with the lorry from the opposite direction and the negligence of the driver is suspected for the accident on the NH-326”. The lorry was heading from Odisha to Chennai.
