A 28-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and robbed by two unidentified persons near the Aluva railway station in the wee hours of Sunday (September 13).

Jofin Jiju, 28, of Kodanad, reportedly came under attack when he was walking on the road near the goods platform around 3.30 a.m., according to the FIR registered by the Aluva police.

The youth was allegedly pelted with a stone and brutally assaulted by the two men, who then made off with ₹1,000 from his bag and the gold chain he was wearing, according to the FIR. The complainant suffered fractured ribs in the attack.
