E Ink has launched Kaleido 4, so the color e-paper tablet, reader, or monitor you buy next can have a noticeably better screen than the ones on sale now. The company announced its fourth-generation canvas with a wider color gamut, brighter whites, higher contrast, and faster refresh. Hanvon Technology’s M10C II is the first device to use it.
Most color E Ink devices today run on Kaleido 3. This includes the Onyx Boox Tab Ultra C , the first Onyx tablet with that panel, and the Bigme S6 Color+ , which Bigme rated at 12fps. The same panel has since moved beyond tablets into products like the 13.3-inch Bigme B13 monitor, which shows color at 150ppi.
