Tamil vocal concert “ Tamilum Ambalum” was performed by Hosur C. Mahanya Sri, to the accompaniments of AkshayaHari on the Violin, V Sundareswaran on the Mridangam and V.V. Sabareesh on the Khanjira, on the second day of 52nd Tamil Isai Vizha at Raja Muthiah Mandram.

She commenced invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesa with “Ainthu Karathanai Aanai Mugathanai” and worshipped Goddess Uma/ Parvati through a Varamu Raga tana varnam nambum anbarkkarulum” by Lalgudi Jayaraman.

She then sang “varmamaa enmeedhil” in saveri by Anai Ayya. Questioning the Goddess Dharmasamvardhani, the consort of the presiding deity at Tiruvaiyaru as to why she is being distant or withholding her mercy. Through her unhurried gamakas, she pulled out the microtones of Saveri.

Her next rendition was “enai nee maravade” in amrutavarshini by M. M. Dandapani Desikar on Goddess Meenakshi, who provides melody to her songs and meaningful life to us.
