A young man is fighting for his life in Wellington Hospital after a car struck him during an anti-social road user event in the Manawatū region early on Saturday morning. Police were called to Halcombe Rd, north of Feilding, at about 12.20am following reports a vehicle had hit a person. "That person was located with extensive injuries, and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Wellington Hospital," Detective David Burrows said. The driver allegedly fled before officers arrived, and police are now urging that person to come forward.
