‘You Call Christians Infidels, You Mindless Creature’: Prophet El-Buba Condemns Sheikh Jingir’s Muslim-Muslim Ticket Campaign

Prophet Isa El-Buba has publicly criticized Islamic cleric Sheikh Yahya Jingir for promoting religious division and referring to Christians as infidels during a political campaign. El-Buba emphasized the need for national unity and peace in Nigeria amidst ongoing security and social challenges.
Why it matters
Religious rhetoric in political campaigns can exacerbate existing social tensions in Nigeria, making this a significant issue for national stability.
He said he had personally supported thousands of Muslims across northern Nigeria despite having no family or personal relationship with many of them.
Prophet Isa El-Buba, the General Overseer of El-Buba Outreach Ministries, has condemned Islamic cleric Sheikh Yahya Jingir over remarks in which the cleric urged Muslims in Kano State to support Muslim-Muslim political tickets and referred to Christians as infidels.
Jingir made the remarks at a campaign event organised in support of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and tagged “Abba Go Again,” according to a video seen by SaharaReporters.
Reacting to the development, El-Buba accused the cleric of promoting religious division at a time when the country, particularly northern Nigeria, is grappling with insecurity, poverty, banditry, drug abuse, criminality and the displacement of communities.
