Why it matters
The case involves high-profile political corruption and the potential release conditions of a former head of state, drawing significant public and media scrutiny in Malaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 — Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has denied knowing anything about arrangements to settle the RM50 million fine that would allow her husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.
According to a report by the New Straits Times , she told reporters at the Kuala Lumpur courts complex that the family had been kept in the dark about any payment developments today.
“I do not know. You all know better,” she said.
“The family does not know and I am not being told about it.”
Her comments came after she attended a hearing for her application to introduce fresh evidence in her solar hybrid corruption case.
Reporters then showed her a Malay daily report claiming two individuals, said to be Najib’s representatives, were seen at the court’s payment counter this morning.
