Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday (August 7, 2026) claimed that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has set a new world record by spending ₹7,000 crore on a "cosmetic facial".
In a post on X in Hindi, Mr. Yadav said the Chief Minister has spent over ₹7,000 crore on a "cosmetic facial", "derived from tax money merely to project a false image as genuine".
He termed it "highly objectionable" and "utterly condemnable", particularly for the country's largest State, which is grappling with poverty, joblessness, unemployment, economic slowdown, MSP issues, and a lack of basic amenities like electricity, water, roads, and healthcare.
