Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Thursday asked the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) to launch a drive to issue e-khata to properties.

Speaking while reviewing the projects and programmes of the corporation at a meeting, the Minister said that though the corporation has 2,22,256 properties, it has issued only 68,603 e-khats till September 16, 2026.

“This number is very low. All properties should be issued with an e-khata by taking up a drive,” he told the Commissioner of the civic body, Rahul Ratnam Pandey.

The Minister said the corporation should explore the best solid waste management practices adopted by other civic bodies and introduce the same in the city.
