Commonwealth Games bronze medallist javelin thrower Yashvir Singh has been named Worlds and Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra’s replacement for the upcoming Asian Games.

As per the latest 77-member Asiad team released by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), Yashvir and Rohit Yadav will represent India in men’s javelin at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

Neeraj, who secured a silver in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and recorded his season’s best 88.05m at the Lausanne Diamond League, prematurely ended his season due to an ankle ligament tear.
