Yash breaks silence on 'Toxic' being pushed to avoid clash with 'Dhurandhar': 'Log sochte hai Rs 100-200 crore kam hone se mujhe kuch ho sakta hai'
AI Summary

Indian actor Yash addresses the controversy surrounding the release date of his film 'Toxic', clarifying that he does not intentionally schedule clashes with other movies. He emphasizes that his primary concern is artistic quality rather than box-office competition.

Yash starrer 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' is finally releasing in cinemas after much delay. Earlier, the film was pushed to avoid clash with 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', 'Toxic' was initially slated to arrive in theatres on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the release of the Aditya Dhar directorial. However, the makers later deferred the film to June 4, citing uncertainty in the Middle East. The release was subsequently postponed again, with a new date yet to be announced.Addressing the controversy surrounding the clash, Yash said that he has never intentionally chosen to compete with another film at the box office. “Jo bhi clashes aap bol rahe hain, woh clash mein main seedha jaake kabhi nahi kiya. Mera date announce hua hota hai, uske baad koi agar aayega, toh woh clash hota hai (Whatever clashes you are talking about, I have never directly gone into a clash. My date would have been announced first, and if someone comes after that, then it becomes a clash)."The actor admitted that the March 19 release plan left him uncertain about how things would eventually play out. “I was in confusion when my movie was supposed to release on March 19 (I was confused when my movie was supposed to release on March 19)."Yash also insisted that box-office losses are not something that frighten him. For him, the bigger concern is whether he lives up to the expectations attached to his films. “Zindagi mein mujhe khone ka kuch hai hi nahin, toh mujhe dar hai hi nahin (I have nothing in life that I am afraid of losing, so I have no fear)."Elaborating on his perspective, the 'KGF' star said, “Log samajhte hain Rs 100 crore kam hone se ya Rs 200 crore kam hone se mujhe kuch ho sakta hai. Nahin, hamare paas toh kuch bhi nahin tha pocket mein. Abhi jo bhi hai plus hi hai (People think losing Rs 100 crore or Rs 200 crore can affect me. No, I had nothing in my pockets. Whatever I have now is a plus)."According to Yash, his biggest fear is failing to deliver the film he has promised to the audience. “Darr is cheez ka hai, jo maine promise kiya hai logon ko, aur mere taraf se product theek hai, woh nahin aaya, toh main aage jaata hoon (My fear is about what I have promised people. If the product from my side is not right, then I move forward)."He further explained that moving 'Toxic' away from the March 19 date was a matter of self-respect and not an attempt to protect his image or ego. “Agar wahan nahin karta na, tab woh ego hota. Ki mera image ke liye, main dikhane ke liye, main waisa kiya hota, toh ego hota. Toh woh self-respect tha (If I had not moved my film, then it would have been ego. If I had done it for my image or to prove something, that would have been ego. This was self-respect)."'Toxic' was first moved from March 19 to June 4, before being postponed once more. The makers are yet to announce its next theatrical release date.Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s 'Dhurandhar' emerged as one of the biggest Hindi blockbusters, reportedly collecting over Rs 1,300 crore worldwide. Its sequel, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', arrived in theatres on March 19, 2026, and has also registered a massive run, crossing Rs 1,800 crore worldwide according to current trade estimates.Give your child the gift of confidence!
