Why it matters
This initiative represents a significant regional economic development effort aimed at positioning Andhra Pradesh as a competitive destination for global technology investments.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao has said the focus will be on developing Gajuwaka as a key centre for the IT, industrial and tourism sectors.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao, along with District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore and other revenue officials, conducted a field-level inspection of nearly 800 acres at Yarada on Saturday to assess its potential for IT, knowledge- and technology-driven industries and tourism development.
The MLA reviewed the extent and status of the land, existing infrastructure and development potential of the Yarada hill region. He directed officials to examine the feasibility of developing the scenic location as a hub for IT companies, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), startups and other knowledge- and technology-driven enterprises.
“The expansion of the IT sector in the area could generate substantial employment and livelihood opportunities for local youth,” he said.
