Xiaomi Buds 6 Specs, Price and SA Availability in 2026
Xiaomi has launched its flagship Buds 6 wireless earbuds globally, featuring high-end audio codecs and Harman-tuned sound. However, the product is currently unavailable in South Africa, where the local market is limited to budget-tier Redmi models.
Why it matters
Market segmentation strategies by global tech firms often create disparities in product availability and consumer choice across different regions.
Xiaomi’s flagship wireless earbuds, the Buds 6, have now rolled out across Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East following a global launch on May 28, 2026 . Priced at €119.99 in Europe and £99.99 in the UK , the earbuds pack Qualcomm aptX Lossless audio, Harman-tuned sound and Apple Find My support into a semi-in-ear design weighing just 4.4 grams per bud.
But there is a problem for South African buyers. Xiaomi’s own South African store currently lists six TWS earbuds, and every single one carries the budget Redmi brand. The flagship Buds 6 is nowhere on the page.
