Xiaomi boosts battery power in Redmi Note 17

Xiaomi is pushing battery endurance to the centre of Nigeria’s smartphone market as it prepares to launch the REDMI Note 17 Series in the country on September 30, with the top-end REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G featuring a 10,000mAh battery. The move could mark a new direction in the mid-range smartphone segment, where manufacturers have traditionally competed heavily on camera quality, processing power, display technology and 5G connectivity. For Xiaomi, the new proposition is simple: a smartphone that can stay powered for significantly longer. The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G comes with Xiaomi’s largest-ever smartphone battery, a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, alongside 100W HyperCharge and 27W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi said its internal laboratory testing indicates that the battery can deliver up to four days of use on a single charge, although actual battery life will vary depending on usage, network conditions and other factors.
