Xbox reveals pricing for cloud gaming limits, starting at $3.99 for 10 hours

Xbox has introduced 'cloud playtime packs' that allow users to purchase additional cloud gaming hours starting at $3.99 for 10 hours. This move follows the implementation of monthly usage limits for existing Game Pass subscribers to manage rising infrastructure costs.
Why it matters
This shift signals a broader industry trend toward monetizing cloud infrastructure and moving away from unlimited subscription models in gaming.
Cloud playtime packs provide ad-free cloud gaming, including shorter wait times and high-quality streaming
Referred to as cloud playtime packs, launch pricing is 10 hours for $3.99, 25 hours for $7.99, and 50 hours for $11.99.
These packs offer ad-free cloud gaming with shorter wait times and high-quality streaming. Playtime remains available until it's used.
Xbox Insiders who don't have a Game Pass subscription can currently preview the pricing options before they roll out in November. They can also try ad-supported game streaming , which Xbox began testing earlier this year.
Xbox noted that "availability, purchasing options, eligible games, and cloud gaming options may vary by market, device, account eligibility, and preview ring."
