Xbox imposes monthly strict hour limits on cloud gaming

Microsoft is introducing strict monthly hourly limits for cloud gaming on Xbox Game Pass, ranging from 5 to 15 hours depending on the subscription tier. This move has drawn criticism from the gaming community, especially as it coincides with the upcoming launch of major titles.
Why it matters
The decision represents a significant shift in the value proposition of cloud gaming services, potentially impacting how subscribers consume digital media.
Xbox is making a change to Game Pass that probably won't have very many defenders online. Microsoft's gaming division announced in a blog post this week that the cloud gaming service that has been included with Game Pass subscriptions for years is getting fairly harsh hourly limits per month, starting in November. You'll be restrained to different amounts of time depending on which tier of Game Pass you subscribe to:Game Pass Essential: 5 hours per monthGame Pass Premium: 10 hours per monthGame Pass Ultimate: 15 hours per month
