Just as expected, Xbox is seemingly following PlayStation’s lead as it moves to replace physical discs with digital licenses.
It’s been a few weeks now since PlayStation announced disc production will cease in 2028, but gamers still aren’t relenting in their boycotts .
Xbox had the opportunity to take advantage of this situation by confirming it’ll continue to make discs long into the life of its next-gen console, currently known as Project Helix . At the time of writing the company has failed to comment on the situation and the latest rumours suggest it’s about to announce its own killing-blow to physical media .
