WRD to renovate apron across the Mukkombu barrage soon
The Tamil Nadu Water Resources Department has received government sanction for a ₹126 crore project to repair the damaged apron of the Mukkombu barrage. The renovation aims to prevent scouring and ensure the structural stability of the barrage, which is critical for water management in the Cauvery delta.

The concrete floor on the riverbed and huge boulders of the apron, downstream the barrage shutters across the Cauvery at Mukkombu had suffered extensive damage and had been lying in disarray for the past few years.
