World Tamils Economic conference to be held in Mauritius

The 13th Global Economic Summit and World Tamils Conference is scheduled to take place in Mauritius in September 2026. The event aims to foster economic ties and attract foreign investment to the island through the global Tamil diaspora.

Tamils settled and involved in business activities in more than 160 countries would participate in the 13th Global Economic Summit and World Tamils Conference 2026 to be held in Mauritius, said G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT Vellore.
At a press conference held in the city on Tuesday, he said the conference would be held from September 11 to 13 and would have a large contingent from South Africa as a large section of Tamils were settled in Durban.
