Englishman Ross Smith won the final six legs to produce a shock 11-5 victory over two-time former winner Gerwyn Price in the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam.
It was just a second major title for the 37-year-old, whose only previous success at this level of the PDC World Tour came at the European Championship in 2022.
But the world number 14 overpowered his loftier opponent with a barrage of 180s, hitting 11 maximums, compared to Welshman Price's five, to finish a deserved winner.
It was a fitting finale to a tournament of shocks that saw world champion Luke Littler lose in the quarter-finals and miss out on his quest to claim a clean sweep of the major PDC titles in 2026.
