World's most-valuable company Nvidia now runs 'much more like a family business'
Nvidia is increasingly operating like a family business as CEO Jensen Huang integrates his daughter and son-in-law into key leadership roles. Nico Caprez, Huang's son-in-law, has rapidly ascended to a vice president position overseeing global AI infrastructure growth.
Why it matters
The concentration of family members in high-level roles at the world's most valuable company raises questions about corporate governance and succession planning in the tech sector.
Nvidia, the world's most valuable company, is increasingly being steered by people from Jensen Huang's own family. His daughter Madison Huang married Nico Caprez, a former Swiss pro ski racer, in Hawaii late last month. Caprez, 35, has in under three years become one of the chipmaker's most important executives, handling its multibillion-dollar ties with young cloud providers and data centre firms. Some Nvidia employees believe Huang, 63, is preparing the couple for a bigger leadership role, The Information reports. One employee told the publication the company runs much more like a family business than people realise, a rare setup in the tech industry.
