The district administration offices of Nagapattinam and Ariyalur observed World Population Day, under the auspices of the Health and Family Welfare Department with a host of awareness programmes on Monday.
According to an official release, the events were inaugurated by District Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar at Nagapattinam.
He administered a pledge to nursing students and government office workers to mark the day, and flagged off an awareness vehicle, followed by a rally.
In Ariyalur, District Collector N. Mirunalini inaugurated World Population Day programmes on Monday.
