World of WearableArt show returns tonight after crew member dies at TSB Arena in Wellington

The World of WearableArt will return to the stage tonight after the death of a crew member at Wellington’s waterfront.

A staffer died at TSB Arena yesterday morning after experiencing an “apparent medical event”, police said.

Last night’s 7.30pm performance and today’s 2.30pm matinee were cancelled after the tragedy.

World of WearableArt (Wow) has confirmed tonight’s performance is set to go ahead.

“The team has identified adjustments needed behind the scenes for the show to continue and today has been about giving our people the time and support they need while also making those changes so we can safely return to the stage tonight,” Wow said in a statement to the Herald .

Attendees of the two affected shows have been contacted about transferring their tickets to another performance or receiving a refund.

Wow said plans were underway to honour the crew member.
