World Mental Health Day awareness event to be held in Kozhikode

The Indian Psychiatric Society and the Kerala State Mental Health Authority are hosting an awareness event in Kozhikode for World Mental Health Day. The program includes expert talks on depression, suicide prevention, and substance addiction for students and professionals.

The Kerala branch of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) and the Kerala State Mental Health Authority (KSMHA) will jointly observe World Mental Health Day at the IMA Hall here on Saturday (October 10).
District Collector M.S. Madhavikutty will inaugurate the programme at 7.10 p.m. IPS State president T. Sagar will preside over the function.
As part of the observance, an awareness programme for nursing and psychology students will be held from 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dr. K. Amal will speak on depression, Dr. Rehna Kaladi on identifying and helping people with suicidal tendencies, and Dr. Jishnu Janardhanan on substance addiction and collective efforts to address it.
