Workshops on sustainable small-scale marine fisheries to be held in Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam

Stakeholder workshops are scheduled in Visakhapatnam and Machilipatnam to develop a National Plan of Action for sustainable marine small-scale fisheries. The initiative aims to gather actionable insights from traditional fishing communities to inform government policy.

State-level stakeholder consultation workshops for the development of the National Plan of Action for Sustainable Marine Small-Scale Fisheries in India (NPOA-SSF Marine) will be held in Visakhapatnam on October 8 and Machilipatnam on October 12.
In a statement, District Fishermen’s Youth Welfare Association (DFYWA) Executive Secretary Arjilli Dasu said the workshops were being organised jointly by the DFYWA and FISHCON, with the support of the Bay of Bengal Programme Inter-Governmental Organisation (BOBP-IGO).
