Workshop on ‘Quaternary Earth System Processes and Geohazards in Southern India’ begins at NCESS

A workshop on ‘Quaternary Earth System Processes and Geohazards in Southern India’ began at the National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), Thiruvananthapuram, on Monday. The event was organised as a prelude to the conference of the International Union for Quaternary Research (INQUA) planned in Lucknow in 2027. The workshop brings together scientists and researchers to discuss quaternary climate and environmental change, sedimentary processes, landscape evolution, coastal changes and geohazards in Southern India, NCESS said.

Rasik Ravindra, Former Director, National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), Goa, inaugurated the workshop.
